Transfer your domain name from HostGator to Skystra

⚠️ Before starting a domain transfer, make sure:
1. The domain is active and not expired
2. The domain is older than 60 days
3. The domain had no registrar transfers in the last 60 days

• To transfer regular domain extensions, use the steps under Instructions (all domains)
  
• To transfer *uk based domain extensions, use the steps under Instructions (*uk domains only)

Instructions (all domains)

1. Log in to your HostGator user portal
2. Click on Domains from the menu
3. Click on the Domains tab
4. Find your domain name and move your mouse over the left-hand side icons
5. Click on Domain Privacy
6. On the Domain Privacy page, select the Public button to disable Domain Privacy, and click the Save button
7. Go back to your domain and hover your mouse, find and click on Domain Locking
8. On the Domain Locking page, click the toggle to turn Locking OFF
9. On the same page, click on the Request EPP Key button under the EPP Key section
10. Check your email account for the EPP code, make sure to check spam and junk folders just in case
11. Log in to your Skystra user portal
12. Click on Domains from the menu
13. Click the Add New button

14. Click on the Transfer Domain tab

15. Type your domain name into the search field and select its extension from the dropdown

16. Click the Search button

17. Click the Add to Cart button

18. Paste your auth code into the EPP Code / Auth Code field

19. Click on the Add to Cart button for ID Protection (highly recommended to keep you safe from spam and fraud)

20. Click the Checkout button

21. HostGator will take approximately 7 days to release your domain name. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra user portal.

Instructions (*uk domains only)

1. Log in to your HostGator user portal
2. Click on Domains from the menu
3. Click on the Domains tab
4. Find your domain name and move your mouse over the left-hand side icons
5. Click on Domain Locking
6. On the Domain Locking page, click the toggle to turn Locking OFF
7. Find the Change IPS tag section and change IPS tag to:

8. Log in to your Skystra user portal
9. Click on Domains from the menu
10. Click the Add New button

11. Click on the Transfer Domain tab

12. Type your domain name into the search field and select its extension from the dropdown

13. Click the Search button

14. Click the Add to Cart button

15. Click the Checkout button

16. HostGator will release your domain name within a few hours. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra user portal.
