Monitor your domain propagation using the Skystra DNS tracker
Definitions
When you point your domain to our network through our nameservers or your hosting account IP address, it undergoes DNS propagation.
DNS propagation is when internet providers worldwide update to your new nameservers.
This process can take a few hours, 24 hours, or, rarely, up to 48 hours.
If you’ve recently updated your nameservers or DNS to point to our network, you can track the DNS propagation for your domain using our built-in DNS tracker tool.
Before you start
⚠️ To track DNS propagation to our network, your domain must be using our nameservers or pointed to your hosting account IP address.
ℹ️ DNS propagation depends on each internet service provider and can take from a few hours to 24 hours.
Step by step
1. Open a new window or tab in your web browser
2. In the search bar, enter your DNS tracker link using this format:
https://yourdomain.com/dnscheck.html
⚠️Note: Replace yourdomain.com with your domain name
For example, for the domain infoceptor.com, the DNS tracker link would:
https://infoceptor.com/dnscheck.html
3. Load your DNS tracker link in your web browser:
- If the DNS has loaded for your domain name on your internet connection, you’ll see a confirmation screen like the one below. This means you will see your website or emails loading from our network when you access them.
- If the DNS hasn’t loaded for your domain name, you’ll see a 404 Not Found error or a blank page on your DNS tracker link. Keep refreshing your browser page to monitor the DNS tracker link until you see the confirmation screen.
