Add your email address to Outlook
You can add your Skystra hosted email to the Outlook email application on your devices.
Mac Computer
To connect your email address to Outlook on your Mac computer, there are two methods, they are indicated under Method A and Method B below with steps for each.
Method A
1. Open Outlook
2. Click on Outlook in the menu bar
3. Select Preferences
4. In the Preferences panel, click on Accounts
5. Click the + sign at the bottom of the accounts panel and select New Account
6. Enter your email address and click Continue
7. Choose IMAP as the account type
8. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
9. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
10. Click Add Account
Method B
1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. If you have multiple domain names, click on your domain name next to the Domain: field to select the one you’d like to manage from the dropdown
3. Click on Email Accounts
4. Locate your email address
5. Click the + sign next to your email address
6. Select Download Apple iOS, iPadOS, Mac Configuration
7. Download the file to your Mac computer
8. Once downloaded, open the file on your computer and follow the setup prompts
iPhone
To connect your email address to Outlook on your iPhone, there are two methods, they are indicated under Method A and Method B below with steps for each.
Method A
1. Download and open the Outlook app from the App Store
2. Tap Get Started if it’s your first time, or go to Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account if you’ve used Outlook before
3. Enter your email address and tap Add Account
4. When prompted, select the IMAP option
5. Type in your email address
6. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
7. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
8. Tap Sign In or Next
9. Once the account is successfully added, choose whether or not to sync contacts and calendars, then tap Save
Method B
1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. If you have multiple domain names, click on your domain name next to the Domain: field to select the one you’d like to manage from the dropdown
3. Click on Email Accounts
4. Locate your email address
5. Click the + sign next to your email address
6. Select Download Apple iOS, iPadOS, Mac Configuration
7. Download the file to your Mac computer
8. Once downloaded, use AirDrop via bluetooth to send the file from your Mac computer to your iPhone
9. Download the file on your iPhone and follow the device prompts to connect it to Outlook
iPad
To connect your email address to Outlook on your iPad, there are two methods, they are indicated under Method A and Method B below with steps for each.
Method A
1. Open the Outlook app on your iPad. If you haven’t installed it, download it from the App Store
2. If it’s your first time using Outlook, tap Get Started. Otherwise, tap your profile icon then Settings (gear icon), and select Add Mail Account > Add Email Account
3. Enter your full email address and tap Add Account
4. On the next screen, select IMAP as your email account type
5. Input your email password
6. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect
7. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
8. Once all details are entered, tap Sign In or Next
9. Follow any additional prompts to customize your account settings, like syncing contacts and calendars
10. Tap Save or Done to complete the account setup
Method B
1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. If you have multiple domain names, click on your domain name next to the Domain: field to select the one you’d like to manage from the dropdown
3. Click on Email Accounts
4. Locate your email address
5. Click the + sign next to your email address
6. Select Download Apple iOS, iPadOS, Mac Configuration
7. Download the file to your Mac computer
8. Once downloaded, use AirDrop via bluetooth to send the file from your Mac computer to your iPad
9. Download the file on your iPad and follow the device prompts to connect it to Outlook
Windows Computer
1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your Windows computer
2. If it’s your first time using Outlook, a welcome screen will appear; otherwise, click the File tab and select Add Account
3. In the Add Account window, enter your email address and select Advanced options
4. Check the box for Let me set up my account manually and click Connect
5. Choose IMAP as the account type
6. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect
7. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
8. Enter your password when prompted and click Connect
9. Outlook will confirm that the account setup is complete
10. Click Done
Android Phone
1. Open the Outlook app on your Android phone. If you haven’t installed it, download it from the Google Play Store
2. Tap the profile icon in the top left corner, then tap the gear icon in the bottom left to access Settings
3. Scroll down and tap Add Mail Account, then select Add Email Account
4. Enter your email address, tap Continue, and select IMAP as the account type
5. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect
6. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
7. Input your email password, then tap the tick mark or sign-in to complete the setup
