Add your email address to Gmail
You can add your Skystra hosted email to the Gmail email application on your devices.
Mac Computer
1. Open Gmail on your Mac by going to mail.google.com in your web browser and sign in to your account
2. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the Settings menu, and then select See all settings
3. In the Settings menu, go to the Accounts tab and locate the Check mail from other accounts section
4. Click on Add a mail account next to it. This will open a new window where you can start the process of adding your email address.
5. You’ll get a popup window. In the Email address field, type in your email address and click the Next button.
6. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- POP server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Port: 995
- Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server: Enabled
- Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail: Enabled
- Label incoming messages: Enabled
7. Click the Add Account button
8. On the next screen, select Yes, I want to be able to send mail as
9. Click the Next button
10. Fill in the SMTP mail details:
- SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Secured connection using TLS (recommended): Enabled
11. Click the Add Account button
iPhone
To connect your email address to Gmail on your iPhone, there are two methods, they are indicated under Method A and Method B below with steps for each.
Method A
1. Download and open the Gmail app from the App Store on your iPhone if you haven’t already
2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner, then scroll down and tap on Settings
3. Tap Add account, then select Other from the list of email providers
4. Enter your full email address and tap Next
5. Choose IMAP and enter your username (your full email address) and email password
6. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
7. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
8. Tap Next and wait for the Gmail app to verify your account settings. Once verified, configure your account options.
9. Tap Save to complete the setup
Method B
1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. If you have multiple domain names, click on your domain name next to the Domain: field to select the one you’d like to manage from the dropdown
3. Click on Email Accounts
4. Locate your email address
5. Click the + sign next to your email address
6. Select Download Apple iOS, iPadOS, Mac Configuration
7. Download the file to your Mac computer
8. Once downloaded, use AirDrop via bluetooth to send the file from your Mac computer to your iPhone
9. Download the file on your iPhone and follow the device prompts to connect it to Gmail
iPad
To connect your email address to Gmail on your iPad, there are two methods, they are indicated under Method A and Method B below with steps for each.
Method A
1. On your iPad, open the Gmail app. If it’s not installed, download it from the App Store
2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper left corner, then scroll down to and tap on Settings
3. Select Add Account, then choose Other from the list of email service options
4. Enter your email address from your custom domain and tap Next
5. Choose IMAP and enter your username (your full email address) and email password
6. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
7. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
8. After entering the information, tap Next. The Gmail app will verify the IMAP settings.
9. Once verified, configure any additional settings if needed and tap Save.
Method B
1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. If you have multiple domain names, click on your domain name next to the Domain: field to select the one you’d like to manage from the dropdown
3. Click on Email Accounts
4. Locate your email address
5. Click the + sign next to your email address
6. Select Download Apple iOS, iPadOS, Mac Configuration
7. Download the file to your Mac computer

9. Download the file on your iPad and follow the device prompts to connect it to Gmail
Windows Computer

Android Phone
1. Open the Gmail app on your Android phone. If it’s not installed, get it from the Google Play Store.
2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the app
3. Scroll down and select Settings, then tap Add account
4. Tap Other when prompted to set up email
5. Enter your full email address and tap Manual setup
6. Choose IMAP account and enter your email account’s password
7. Fill in the incoming mail details:
- Incoming mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 993
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
8. Fill in the outgoing mail details:
- Outgoing mail server: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name)
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your email address password
- Port: 587
- Use SSL/TLS to connect: Enabled
9. Tap Next and wait for the Gmail app to verify your settings
10. Once verified, configure your account options, such as sync frequency and notifications
11. Tap Next, give your account a name (optional), and tap Next again to finish the setup
