Update your domain name mail record at Cloudflare
If you have recently enabled Cloudflare on your domain name, you will need to update the mail record at Cloudflare in order for your email to work and route correctly.
If previous to enabling Cloudflare on your domain name, you were using the Skystra nameservers and want to continue to use your Skystra hosted email – follow the steps indicated below:
1. Go to Cloudflare and log in to your account
2. Locate and click on your domain name
3. Click on DNS from the menu
4. Under the DNS entries, under the Name field, locate the mail record
5. Click on Edit on the right-hand side
6. In the IPv4 address (required) field, put in the IP address of your hosting account (Note: If the IP address already matches the IP address of your hosting account, you don’t need to edit it).
7. Under the Proxy Status, toggle OFF the orange cloud – the cloud should now turn grey and read DNS only
8. Click the Save button
9. Under the Type column, locate the MX record
10. Click on Edit on the right-hand side
11. In the Name field, type in @
12. In the Mail server (required) field, type in mail. followed by your domain name, for example:
mail.skystrahelp.com
13. Click the Save button
14. When you’re done, double check you have both the mail. and MX records set properly, you can see a visual example below:
