Transfer your domain name away from Skystra

⚠️ Before starting a domain transfer, make sure:
1. The domain is active and not expired
2. The domain is older than 60 days
3. The domain had no registrar transfers in the last 60 days

  • To transfer regular domain extensions, use the steps under Instructions (all domains)
  • To transfer *uk based domain extensions, use the steps under Instructions (*uk domains only)

Instructions (all domains)

⚠️ Note: Initiate domain transfers between registrars at least 10-14 days before the domain’s expiration date, as the process typically takes 7 days. This prevents transfer failures or expiration.

1. Log in to your Skystra user portal
2. Click on Domains from the menu

3. Find your domain name and click the 3 dots to the right of it
4. Click on Manage Domain from the dropdown

5. Under Manage, click on Addons

6. If domain privacy (ID Protection) is enabled, click the Disable button to disable it

7. Under Manage, click on Registrar Lock

8. Toggle the Registrar Lock Status OFF

9. Under Manage, click on Get EPP Code

10. You will see your EPP code (auth code) next to ‘The EPP Code for your domain is:’

11. Copy down your EPP Code on a secure note
12. Contact your new domain name registrar to submit your domain name transfer to their system
13. Once you submit the domain name transfer to your new domain registrar, it will take approximately 7 days for your domain transfer to complete

Instructions (*uk domains only)

1. Contact your new domain registrar and ask them what their IPS tag is for *uk based domain names
2. Log in to your Skystra user portal
3. Click on Domains from the menu

4. Find your domain name and click the 3 dots to the right of it
5. Click on Manage Domain from the dropdown

6. Under Manage, click on Release Domain

7. In the New Registrar Tag field, enter the IPS tag your new domain registrar provided you
8. Click the Release Domain button

9. Contact your new domain registrar to submit the transfer of your domain name. Once submitted, the transfer will be completed within a few hours.
