Activate Microsoft 365 email for your domain
Definitions
Microsoft 365 email is a professional email service provided by Microsoft, offering custom domain email addresses and additional collaboration tools.
An MX (Mail Exchange) record is a type of DNS record that directs email messages to the correct mail server for your domain.
Before you start
✅ You must have an active Microsoft 365 subscription. If you do not, purchase your subscription through the Microsoft 365 website before starting.
⚠️ To activate Microsoft 365 email on your domain, the domain must be registered, connected to your hosting account, and use our nameservers.
🚨 If you use an external DNS or CDN provider (e.g., Cloudflare), activate your Microsoft 365 MX records through their dashboard. Use this guide only to generate an SPF record for your DNS provider.
ℹ️ Updates to MX records may take up to 24 hours to propagate across the internet.
