As per ICANN regulations, to transfer a domain, it must be:
→ An active and non-expired domain name
→ At minumum 60-days out from its first date of registration or last transfer initiation date
The process to transfer your domain name to your Skystra account varies by domain registrar, however the steps follow the general order provided below.
For regular domain name transfer types, use the steps under Instructions (all domains)
For uk based domain names only, use the steps under Instructions (uk domains only)
Instructions (all domains)
1. Log in to your customer portal at the provider where the domain you’d like to transfer is currently held
2. Locate your domain name and its management panel
3. Locate the Domain Lock section and unlock your domain
4. Locate the Domain Privacy section and turn it off
5. Locate the Transfer to Another Registrar section and reveal or request the Authorization Code / EPP Code by email – when you obtain your authorization code, note it down
6. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
7. Click on Domains from the menu
8. Click the Add New button
9. Click on Transfer Domain
10. Type your domain name into the field, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
11. Click the Add to Cart button
12. Paste in your domain transfer code into the EPP Code / Auth Code field
13. Click on the Add to Cart button for ID Protection (highly recommended to keep you safe from spam and fraud)
14. Click the Checkout button
15. Your old domain registrar will take approximately 7 days to release your domain name. Once you receive the confirmation email from us, you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
Instructions (uk domains only)
1. Log in to your customer portal at the provider where the domain you’d like to transfer is currently held
2. Locate your domain name and its management panel
3. Locate the Domain Lock section and unlock your domain
4. Locate the Transfer to Another Registrar
5. Locate the Change IPS tag section and change your domain name tag to: NETEARTHONE
6. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
7. Click on Domains from the menu
8. Click the Add New button
9. Click on Transfer Domain
10. Type your domain name into the field, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
11. Click the Add to Cart button
12. Click the Checkout button
13. Your old domain registrar will release your domain name within a few minutes. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
