As per ICANN regulations, to transfer a domain, it must be:
→ An active and non-expired domain name
→ At minumum 60-days out from its first date of registration or last transfer initiation date
For regular domain name transfer types, use the steps under Instructions (all domains)
For uk based domain names only, use the steps under Instructions (uk domains only)
Instructions (all domains)
1. Log in to your SiteGround customer portal
2. Click on Services from the menu
3. Click on the Domains tab
4. Locate your domain name and click Manage
5. Locate the Transfer Lock section and unlock your domain
6. Locate the Domain Privacy section and turn it off
7. Locate the Get EPP Code section and request the EPP code (i.e. domain transfer code) – take note of the email address the authorization code was sent to
8. Check your email inbox for the EPP code, make sure to check spam and junk folders just in case
9. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
10. Click on Domains from the menu
11. Click the Add New button
12. Click on Transfer Domain
13. Type your domain name into the search, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
14. Click the Add to Cart button
15. Paste in your auth code into the EPP Code / Auth Code field
16. Click on the Add to Cart button for ID Protection (highly recommended to keep you safe from spam and fraud)
17. Click the Checkout button
18. SiteGround will take approximately 7 days to release your domain name. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
Instructions (uk domains only)
1. Log in to your SiteGround customer portal
2. Click on Services from the menu
3. Click on the Domains tab
4. Locate your domain name and click Manage
5. Locate the Transfer Lock section and unlock your domain
6. Locate the Change IPS tag section and change your domain name tag to: NETEARTHONE
7. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
8. Click on Domains from the menu
9. Click the Add New button
10. Click on Transfer Domain
11. Type your domain name into the field, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
12. Click the Add to Cart button
13. Click the Checkout button
14. SiteGround will release your domain name within a few minutes. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
