As per ICANN regulations, to transfer a domain, it must be:
→ An active and non-expired domain name
→ At minumum 61-days out from its first date of registration or last transfer initiation date
For regular domain name transfer types, use the steps under Instructions (all domains)
For uk based domain names only, use the steps under Instructions (uk domains only)
Instructions (all domains)
1. Log in to your Namecheap customer portal
2. Click on Domain List from the menu
3. Locate your domain name and click the Manage button
4. Locate and click on the Sharing & Transfer tab
5. Locate the Transfer Out section and turn off the Domain Lock
6. Locate the WHOIS Guard (WitheldforPrivacy) section and turn it off
7. Locate and click the Auth Code button
8. On the Get Auth Code screen, click the Send Code button
9. Check your email inbox for the auth code, make sure to check spam and junk folders just in case
10. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
11. Click on Domains from the menu
12. Click the Add New button
13. Click on Transfer Domain
14. Type your domain name into the search, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
15. Click the Add to Cart button
16. Paste in your auth code into the EPP Code / Auth Code field
17. Click on the Add to Cart button for ID Protection (highly recommended to keep you safe from spam and fraud)
18. Click the Checkout button
19. NameCheap will take approximately 7 days to release your domain name. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
Instructions (uk domains only)
1. Log in to your NameCheap customer portal
2. Click on Domain List from the menu
3. Click Manage next to your domain
4. Go to the Sharing & Transfer tab
5. In the Transfer Out section, locate the Domain Lock and click Unlock
6. Click Change
7. Complete the form and update the IPS tag to: NETEARTHONE
8. Click Save Changes
9. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
10. Click on Domains from the menu
11. Click the Add New button
12. Click on Transfer Domain
13. Type your domain name into the field, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
14. Click the Add to Cart button
15. Click the Checkout button
16. NameCheap will release your domain name within a few minutes. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
