As per ICANN regulations, to transfer a domain, it must be:
→ An active and non-expired domain name
→ At minumum 60-days out from its first date of registration or last transfer initiation date
For regular domain name transfer types, use the steps under Instructions (all domains)
For uk based domain names only, use the steps under Instructions (uk domains only)
Instructions (all domains)
1. Log in to your Bluehost customer portal
2. Click on Domains from the menu
3. Click on your domain name
4. Locate the Domain Locked section and unlock your domain
5. Locate the Domain Privacy section and turn it off
6. Locate the Transfer or Move Domain section and request the EPP code (i.e. domain transfer code) – take note of the email address the EPP code was sent to
7. Check your email inbox for the auth code, make sure to check spam and junk folders just in case
8. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
9. Click on Domains from the menu
10. Click the Add New button
11. Click on Transfer Domain
12. Type your domain name into the field, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
13. Click the Add to Cart button
14. Paste in your EPP code into the EPP Code / Auth Code field
15. Click on the Add to Cart button for ID Protection (highly recommended to keep you safe from spam and fraud)
16. Click the Checkout button
17. Return to your Bluehost customer portal
18. Locate your transferred domain name and click on it
19. Click on the Approve button to confirm your domain name transfer away. If you do not see an Approve button on your Bluehost customer portal, wait approximately 15 minutes and refresh your page.
20. If you approve the domain transfer from your Bluehost account, it will be released within the hour. If not, Bluehost will take approximately 7 days to release your domain name. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
Instructions (uk domains only)
1. Log in to your Bluehost customer portal
2. Click on Domains from the menu
3. Click on your domain name
4. Locate the Domain Locked section and unlock your domain
5. Locate the Release Domain or Change IPS Tag section and change your domain name tag to: NETEARTHONE
6. Log in to your Skystra customer portal
7. Click on Domains from the menu
8. Click the Add New button
9. Click on Transfer Domain
10. Type your domain name into the field, select the extension from the dropdown and click the Search button
11. Click the Add to Cart button
12. Click the Checkout button
13. Bluehost will release your domain name within a few minutes. Once released, you will receive a confirmation email from our team and you will see your domain name listed on your Skystra customer portal.
