You can transfer full ownership of your account and services to a new individual and/or organization.
The steps below require completion by both the current owner and to be new owner of the account.
The steps are outlined in 3 parts to be completed in sequential order, users are defined as:
→ Current owner: The user who wants to transfer ownership of their account and services
→ New owner: The user who will take full ownership of the account and services
Part 1
To be completed by: Current owner
1. Go to: Provide access to your account or services, send an All Permissions invite to the new owner
2. Provide the new owner the link to this guide and instruct them to complete Part 2 and to confirm once completed, so you can complete Part 3
Part 2
To be completed by: New owner
1. Check your email for the invitation request and click Accept Invitation, here is a visual example:

2. Register and sign in to your new customer portal account
3. Click on your name from the top right corner of the account, select Account Details from the dropdown

4. On the Account Details page, update both the Personal and Billing details to your own information

5. Click on your profile name at the top right and from the dropdown, click on Payment Methods

6. Click on the Add New Credit Card button and follow the prompts to add your own credit card on file

7. Once you’ve added your new card, click on the Set as default button next to it

8. Tell the current owner you’ve completed all of the steps in Part 2, so that they can complete Part 3
Part 3
To be completed by: Current owner
1. Log in to your customer portal account
2. Open and submit a Transfer Account Ownership Request
In the message of your request, confirm the following information:
- The full name of the new owner:
- The email address of the new owner:
- Authorization the new owner be given full ownership of the account and services
- Any payment methods to be removed by confirming the card type and last 4-digits
- If any domain name contact information for domain name registrations held on the account should be updated to the new owner’s information
- If you’d like to remain as an authorized user on the account or not
3. Once our team receives your Transfer Account Ownership Request, it will be processed within 1 business day. We will then follow up with you to confirm completion and/or to outline any additional steps required.
